BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Base Category Reopens
BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration | BC PNP EI Base Category | Canada Immigration Update
After nearly a year on pause, the BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Base Category has reopened!
The pause was implemented in July 2021 so that the British Columbia Government could evaluate and revamp the program to ensure it was still aligned with and in support of the economic objectives of the province.
In addition to the Entrepreneur Base Category, the BC PNP also has a Regional Pilot program for entrepreneurs. This program more specifically addresses the needs of regional, rural areas. As part of the changes with the reopening of the Base Category, Regional Pilot registrants will be given priority.
Other criteria, beyond the score assessment based on the business concept and personal information provided during registration, will now go into ranking EI Base applicants. These are in place to ensure that those that are invited to the next step of the process are those that meet the most pressing economic needs of the province at any given time. They include factors like the region you wish to settle and industry/sector you will operate in.
Learn more about the changes to this program and priority initiatives in the official BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Program Guide or the BC PNP website.
